Product Listing Policy

What a store may list on SEFA, how a listing and its photographs must be prepared, and what is not allowed.

Last updated 28 October 2026 · Applies to the seller app

This policy applies to every store on SEFA. A listing that breaks it can be taken down without notice, and a store that does it repeatedly can be suspended.

Who may list

Only an approved store may add products, and only goods it is legally entitled to sell. Your store details, address and tax id must be current.

The listing itself

  • Name and brand — the real name of the product and the real brand. Do not put a brand name on a product that is not that brand.
  • Category — list the product where a buyer would look for it: the right main category, category and type.
  • Description — say what the product actually is. No descriptions copied from another seller's listing.
  • Price — the MRP must be the real maximum retail price, and the selling price what the store is actually charging. Inflating an MRP to show a bigger discount is not allowed.
  • Stock and sizes — keep them accurate, so an order is not cancelled after it is placed.
  • Beauty products — the ingredients, pack size, unit, manufacturing date, expiry date and shelf life must be filled in correctly, and nothing past its expiry may be listed.

Photographs

  • Use your own photographs of the actual product, or ones you have the right to use. Do not take photographs from another website or another seller.
  • Shoot on a clean, plain background, in focus, with the product filling most of the frame.
  • No watermarks, phone numbers, website addresses, prices or promotional text on an image.
  • No other marketplace's branding, and nothing that misrepresents what will arrive.

What may not be listed

  • Counterfeits, replicas and first copies of branded goods.
  • Used or refurbished goods sold as new.
  • Weapons, ammunition and anything prohibited by law.
  • Tobacco, alcohol, drugs and prescription medicines.
  • Hazardous, flammable or toxic goods.
  • Live animals, and products made from protected species.
  • Adult products, and anything obscene or hateful.
  • Stolen goods, and anything you cannot prove you may sell.
  • Expired, damaged or unsafe goods, and anything recalled by its manufacturer.

Keeping a listing honest

A listing must match what the buyer receives. Turning an existing listing into a different product — a new item under the old photographs — is not allowed. Create a new listing instead.

What we do about a breach

  • We may take a listing down, or put a store's products out of sight, while we look into it.
  • We may ask for an invoice or a brand authorisation for a listing.
  • Repeated or serious breaches — counterfeits above all — end in suspension, and in money being held back for the orders affected.

Reporting a listing

If you believe a listing breaks this policy or your rights as a brand, write to our support with the product code and what is wrong, and we will look at it.
